In 1997, Edmund injured his back in a surfing accident, suffering a sciatic nerve impingement and a herniated disc. In therapy he was exposed to Eastern Medicine for the first time. Acupuncture and yoga helped him recover from his back injury.
Inspired by the experience, he enrolled in the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine, where he earned a Master’s Degree in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine.
From his years in the field, Edmund brings extensive clinical experience. He has studied in over a dozen acupuncture clinics throughout Osaka, Japan, where he has observed and worked with some of the country’s most prominent doctors. Since 1999, Jason has been a registered and licensed acupuncturist with the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine. In that time, he has improved the lives of hundreds of people suffering from chronic pain, depression, injuries, and allergies—guiding them toward optimal health through acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
With a clinical focus rooted in western biological sciences, and the application of acupuncture, herbs, orthopedic massage, cupping, moxibustion, meditation, and diet therapy, Jason’s integrated treatment is customized and holistic. It encompasses all aspects of an individual’s physical and mental faculties resulting in optimal outcomes.
Jason’s interest in Chinese medicine began when his mother was undergoing cancer treatment. He witnessed how acupuncture helped offset the effects of radiation for her Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Later in life, it was through acupuncture that he found relief from severe tendonitis of the knee caused by hours of mountain biking.
The positive results he has witnessed and experienced have led him to devote his life to helping patients overcome physical, mental, and spiritual imbalances.
Jason earned a Master’s degree from the NW Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle, WA where he specialized in integrating Eastern and Western approaches to treating work, sports, and orthopedic injuries. In the spring of 2007, he studied in China at Shanghai University.
Currently, Jason is studying advanced Chinese medical massage in New York City, with renowned martial arts expert Tom Bisio.
